Job Title: Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all electrical maintenance activities in the power plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and systems.
• The role provides technical leadership, supervises the maintenance team, and supports operations through timely issue resolution and continuous improvement
• This role is suited for professionals with Electrical & Maintenance experience within the Oil and gas servicing sector who can effectively minimize downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• To be responsible for all electrical systems in the power plant. Provide the necessary routine maintenance and ensure 100% availability of the plant systems
• Responsible for approving all procurement needs & design work for the electrical maintenance unit
• Responsible for reviewing vendors' method statements for conformity with standards and managing vendors according to contract terms
• Ensure the availability of spares, tools, and equipment for maintenance
• Responsible for budget preparation, resource planning, and allocation.
• Maintain accurate records of faults, repairs, and maintenance activities
• Conduct routine inventory checks of electrical spares to ensure availability and readiness.
• Responsible for team performance, reviews, trainings & development needs
• Prepare maintenance reports and technical documentation as required by the Team Lead.
• Approve all procurement needs and maintenance design work in the electricalmaintenance unit
• Ensure full compliance with QHSE requirements for electrical units
• Undertake any other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• B.Sc. / M.Sc in Electrical Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5-12 years of experience in the Engineering field and the power industry
• Should possess relevant professional certifications – COREN/NSE, CMRP, PMP, etc.
• Technical knowledge of electrical systems & equipment history in the power plant
• Technical knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures for the maintenance of electrical devices
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures for Electrical maintenance
• Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spares inventory management
• Operations excellence & operational decision-making
• Safety Requirements & Statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment engineering
• Professional certification – COREN is an added advantage

Experience:

• Oil and gas/ Power House: 5 years (Required).
