About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable entry-level Bookkeeper to support the finance team across our integrated hospitality operations.
This role covers four business units — a hotel, lounge, restaurant, and event centre and offers an excellent foundation for a career in hospitality finance, with hands-on exposure to multi-revenue-stream accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting:
Record and reconcile daily sales figures from the hotel, lounge, restaurant, and event centre in the accounting system
Reconcile POS terminal reports and bank settlements on a daily basis
Post journal entries accurately and maintain the general ledger
Process petty cash disbursements and manage replenishment requests
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Track and file supplier invoices across food & beverage, housekeeping, and events procurement
Follow up on outstanding guest invoices and manage corporate billing records
Assist with event deposit processing, payment collection, and post-event reconciliations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor payment schedules
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare weekly expense summaries for each of the four business units
Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and trial balance preparation
Assist in the preparation of VAT and WHT schedules as directed by the Finance Manager
Maintain organised digital and physical filing of all financial documents and vouchers
Inventory & Cost Support:
Assist with periodic stock counts for the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping stores
Record inventory receipts and cross-reference against purchase orders
Flag discrepancies in food & beverage cost reports promptly to the Finance Manager
Support event costing exercises and contribute to post-event profitability reviews
Requirements
Required:
OND, HND, or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred / Advantageous:
0 – 2 years of bookkeeping or accounts experience (NYSC counts)
Familiarity with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
Prior exposure to a hospitality or retail environment
Student membership of ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage
Key Skills & Attributes:
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial data
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under deadline pressure across concurrent business units
Collaborative team player capable of working effectively with non-finance departments such as front desk, kitchen, and events
Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the hospitality finance function
Flexibility to work on weekends or public holidays during peak occupancy periods or scheduled events
What We Offer
Salary: N150,000 - N200,000 monthly commensurate with qualifications and experience
