Vectar Energy is building the market infrastructure that connects distributed solar to international climate finance. Our platform, ecoWise, aggregates distributed solar installations across Nigeria converting real time generation data into verified carbon credits.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Programme Manager
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We're looking for a systems oriented operations leader to own the developer programme within ecoWise from first contact through onboarding, relationship management, and ongoing operational support.
Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
Designing and running the developer onboarding programme (currently a 10-step process that needs to become a scalable SOP).
Managing day-to-day developer relationships — troubleshooting issues, managing expectations, coordinating between developers, and the platform team.
Creating operational systems — SOPs, templates, dashboards, and processes that allow the business to scale.
Coordinating across internal teams — working with technical, commercial, and certification workstreams to ensure alignment.
Leading stakeholder events — webinars, demo days, the multi-stakeholder forum, and site visits.
What You'll Own
Developer Programme Management:
Design and execute the full developer onboarding process — from initial outreach to first verification.
Devise simpler ways to streamline processes for the ecoWise programme.
Serve as primary point of contact for developer queries, issues, and escalations.
Manage developer expectations around data requirements (80% completeness threshold), verification timelines, and payout structures.
Coordinate between developers, and ecoWise platform / tech teams.
Build and maintain developer relationship tracking systems (CRM, progress dashboards, communication logs).
Create onboarding templates, FAQs, and developer-facing documentation (e.g.,onboarding guides).
Operations & Internal Coordination:
Oversee day-to-day project operations across ecoWise workstreams.
Coordinate activities between hardware/technical teams, certification, communications, and commercial functions.
Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using Gantt charts or project management tools.
Prepare internal progress reports, stakeholder updates, and documentation for donors / investors.
Manage internal communication flow — ensuring the CEO and cross-functional teams have visibility and alignment.
Events & Stakeholder Engagement:
Lead logistics for major events: webinars, demo days, multi-stakeholder forums.
Coordinate with external partners (embassies, energy associations, DFIs, private sector buyers).
Manage event communications, invitations, follow-up, and documentation in collaboration with the comms team.
Oversee site visits for demos, data collection, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience
Essential Experience:
2–6 years in operations, programme management, or business development in energy, climate, development, or tech sectors.
Proven track record of building operational systems ; you've designed processes, created SOPs, or built programmes from scratch.
Direct experience managing vendor, partner, or client onboarding programmes — ideally in technical or regulated environments.
Desirable:
Understanding of Nigeria's energy landscape — particularly mini-grids, solar PV, or rural energy access ecosystems.
Experience working with high-level stakeholders — government agencies, donors, private sector partners, or international organisations.
Essential Skills:
Systems thinker: You see where ad hoc processes need structure and can translate complexity into repeatable workflows.
Strong commercial literacy: You understand contracts, partnership agreements, and how to navigate regulatory / compliance requirements (legal background desirable but not required if you have commercial experience).
Exceptional organizational rigour: You manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and keep detailed documentation without being asked.
High ownership and follow-through: You don't wait for instructions — you identify problems, propose solutions, and execute.
Cross-functional coordination: You can align technical teams, commercial stakeholders, and external partners toward shared goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication: You can explain complex processes clearly to diverse audiences (developers, regulators, investors).
Proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft 365) and data tracking systems.
Highly Desirable:
Legal qualification or significant contract / compliance experience.
Familiarity with carbon markets, or ESG / SDG reporting frameworks.
Hands-on experience with mini-grid operations, energy access projects, or DRE (Distributed Renewable Energy) programmes.
In 3 months:
You've mapped the current developer onboarding process, identified gaps, and created a draft SOP.
You're managing active developer relationships with clear communication cadence and issue tracking.
You've led logistics for at least one major stakeholder event (webinar, demo, or forum).
In 6 months:
Developer onboarding is documented, templated, and running as a repeatable process.
You've reduced CEO bottlenecks by owning day-to-day developer operations and internal coordination.
The developer programme is scalable — new hires or partners can execute the process using your SOPs and templates.
You've expanded stakeholder engagement capability (events, communications, partnerships) to support commercial growth.
