Job Title: Tech Policy and Regulations Reporter

Location:  Abuja (FCT) - Remote

Job Description

• Develop and write original news, analysis, interviews and feature pieces about tech policies emerging from the Nigerian Government and its agencies.
• Establish and maintain solid media relationship with government regulators and major policy and decision makers in the country's capital.
• Create a database of contacts within the space for easy access.
• ⁠Recommend prospective clients for editorial business collaborations.
• Attend events put together by policymakers and regulators with the view of networking and story production.
• Collaborate with the rest of the team to achieve editorial targets and objectives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and opportunities.
• Become a leading voice in tech policy and regulatory reportng while establishing Technext as the go-to platform.

KPIs
Editorial:

• Write a minimum of 2 stories per day (Monday to Friday).
• Write at least 3 original stories per week.
• ⁠Get at least 60,000 views per month.
• Organise a first stakeholders roundtable within one year.

Operations & Reporting:

• Track analytics to update yourself with what stories are working and measure impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Marketng or related fields.
• Live and can work in Abuja
• Proven experience in business or tech news reporting.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboravely.

Salary
N300,000 per month
