We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Lagos

Role Summary

• The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process — from job intake to finished product — ensuring output meets quality standards, deadlines are met, and the factory floor operates efficiently and accountably.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Translate client briefs and design specs into a production schedule
• Assign jobs to the right workers and machines based on capacity and skill
• Monitor job progress daily and flag delays before they compound
• Coordinate with the Procurement Officer to ensure materials are available ahead of production

Floor Supervision & Accountability:

• Supervise factory workers and machine operators day-to-day
• Ensure every worker understands their task, the spec, and the standard expected
• Conduct daily floor walks to monitor work in progress
• Address performance issues directly and escalate where necessary

Quality Control:

• Implement and enforce stage-gate checks at critical production points
• Ensure the Industrial Architect’s specs are properly handed off and understood before work begins
• Review finished products before dispatch and reject substandard work
• Track rework and defects, identify patterns, and drive corrective action

Finishing & Dispatch:

• Own the finishing stage — edge banding, assembly, surface quality
• Ensure nothing leaves the factory without a final quality sign-off
• Coordinate with the Installer on pre-dispatch checks for installation jobs

Reporting & Communication:

• Report daily/weekly production status to the Factory Manager
• Maintain simple production logs — jobs in progress, completed, delayed, rejected
• Flag resource, manpower, or equipment issues promptly

Team Development:

• Identify skill gaps on the floor and recommend training
• Mentor and develop promising workers into more responsible roles
• Build a culture of ownership and quality on the floor

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in a furniture, woodworking, or board processing factory
• Strong understanding of production processes — cutting, edge banding, lamination, assembly
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs
• Proven supervisory experience
• Hands-on, floor-present leadership style
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
