Caring Habitat is a 40-room purpose-built inpatient skilled nursing and rehabilitation hospital designed to complement the health outcomes of patients through the delivery robust rehabilitation program.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Dietitian

Location: Lekki - Ajah, Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time

Position Overview

• The Dietitian will be responsible for providing evidence-based nutritional care and medical nutrition therapy to patients within our rehabilitation and healthcare framework.
• The primary goal is to assess, diagnose, and treat dietary and nutritional problems to improve patient outcomes, support physical rehabilitation, and promote long-term wellness.
• You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate nutrition into the holistic recovery plan for each resident.
• This is a Part-time position working once a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional screenings and assessments for new and existing patients, taking into account medical history, clinical data, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and meal plans tailored to specific conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, renal issues, or post-surgical recovery.
• Participate in clinical ward rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure nutrition is aligned with the patient’s broader rehabilitation goals.
• Patient Education: Provide one-on-one counseling and group education sessions for patients and their families regarding healthy eating habits and disease-specific dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with the catering/kitchen department to ensure facility menus meet nutritional standards and cater to diverse therapeutic needs (e.g., low-sodium, texture-modified, or high-protein diets).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR), documenting patient progress, dietary interventions, and adjustments to care plans.
• Ensure all nutritional services comply with national healthcare regulations, food safety standards, and Caring Habitat’s internal protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Human Nutrition, or a related field.
• Valid license to practice as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
• At least 2-3 years proven experience working as a Dietitian
• Ability to work independently
• Experience in managing patients with chronic medical conditions independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Experience:

• Working: 2-3 years (Required).

License/Certification:

• Dietitian's license (Required).

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
