Sky Mall is a family-friendly destination for entertainment, leisure and shopping, situated on Lekki-Epe Expressway in the Sangotedo axis of Lagos. It is home to various brands and businesses offering top quality goods and services on a daily basis.
Sky Mall is divided into two sections: the main Shopping mall for shopping and recreation, and the Extension section which offers office spaces. The mall boasts an opulent decor and wide of range of shops, office spaces, warehouses, top-notch restaurants, exclusive VIP lounges, cinemas, and a terrace bar. We provide easy movements from the ground floor to the top floor of the mall by stationing two elevators and three escalators within the shopping mall. There is also a cargo lift that runs from the ground floor to the third floor at the Extension part of the mall. We provide our tenants with an official parking lot strictly for business operators in the mall, and also we provide a well-secured car park for customers which can can accommodate more than 300 cars.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Accountant

Description (Subject to Modifications to Suit Departmental/Company Needs)
In your position as Accountant, you will handle all accounting duties of the business unit(s) in your area of primary responsibility and specifically carry out the following job functions:
Accounting Software / ERP:
Use the company's accounting software and ERP for the effective day-to-day operations (production, sales, inventory management) and accounting functions of the business units.
General Ledger / Trial Balance:
Daily monitoring of the general ledger / trial balance to ensure the correctness of balances: cash, other liabilities, other assets accounts, operating expense accounts, operating income accounts, interest income accounts, interest expense accounts, and other internal accounts
Ensure daily posting of all transactions by all desk officers
Ensure all errors are promptly corrected
Daily review of ledger accounts, including assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, to ensure:
(1) genuineness, (2) correctness, and (3) completeness of all entries
Ensure the correctness of all balances shown in the trial balance.
Banks & Cash:
Reconciliation of all bank accounts and agreement with the general ledger
Raising entries to clear all outstanding items in bank reconciliations
Reconciliation of all cash accounts, including the vault
Raising entries to clear all outstanding items in cash accounts
Reconciliation / clearance of petty cash and cash advances
Reconciliation of all intra-company and inter-company transfers done within the group.
Income & Expenses:
Proper recording of all income
Proper recording of all expenses
Proper recording of all production costs
Fixed Assets / Other Assets:
Regular maintenance of fixed assets registers / schedules
Agreement of fixed assets schedules with the general ledger
Preparation of additions schedule
Preparation of transfers schedule
Preparation of consolidated fixed assets movement schedule
Computation of monthly depreciation charges in line with policy agreement
Preparation of amortization schedules for all fixed assets
Agreement of amortization schedules with the general ledger
Maintenance of backup vouchers for all fixed assets
Opening and maintaining a fixed asset file for all fixed asset items.
Returns Rendition / Compliance:
Preparation and rendition of all taxes promptly (PAYE, VAT, WHT, and Income Tax).
Financial Statements:
Preparation of monthly financial reports / statements
Computation of all required ratios and variance analysis
Preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules for internal / external audit
Follow-up and resolution of all audit queries by internal / external auditors.
Expected Reports:
Daily cash inflow reports
Daily reconciliation reports
Weekly sales reports
Daily / weekly cash flow projections
Monthly reports
Quarterly reports
End-of-year (annual) reports.
Other Duties:
Shall perform all other duties assigned by the Head of Department and/or Top Management of the company.
Key Requirements in Nigeria
Education: B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
Certification: ICAN certification will be an additional advantage
Experience: 5–8 years of experience in retail, hospitality, club, or restaurant accounting
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books, and ICG, as well as MS Excel for data analytics
Key Competencies: Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, cost control analysis, high integrity, and the ability to work under pressure.
