We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and highly accountable Account Officer to join our team, inIMO STATE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and regulatory standards.
The Account Officer must possess strong analytical skills, financial discipline, integrity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operational environment. The role requires a proactive individual who can support management with reliable financial data for effective decision-making while ensuring smooth financial operations across assigned units or stations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation of all accounting activities.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
Monitor cash flow, expenses, revenue, and financial reconciliations with Cashiers across our Stations
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations with all Cashiers
Verify financial documents, receipts, invoices, and payment records for accuracy and completeness.
Support payroll processing and ensure proper salary documentation where required.
Prepare financial summaries and management reports for decision-making purposes.
Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and accounting procedures.
Monitor operational expenses and identify cost-control opportunities.
Ensure proper filing and safeguarding of financial records and confidential documents.
Investigate discrepancies and provide timely resolutions to financial issues.
Support audit exercises and provide required financial documentation promptly.
Ensure accuracy, objectivity, and excellence in all financial reports and records.
Carry out any other accounting or finance-related duties assigned by management.

Accuracy level of financial reports and reconciliations.
Timeliness of report submissions.
Reduction in accounting discrepancies and unresolved variances.
Compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
Effectiveness in cash management and expense monitoring.
Quality and completeness of financial documentation.
Responsiveness during audits and financial reviews.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 2years relevant accounting or finance experience.
Experience in oil and gas, service industry, or multi-location business operations is an added advantage.
Locational Requirement:
Must reside in Imo State.
