Job Summary

• The Accounting Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong accounting knowledge, hands-on ERP experience, and a sound understanding of inventory and stock accounting within the poultry or agriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and control all day-to-day accounting transactions across the department.
• Manage and record prepaid expenses while ensuring proper amortization schedules are maintained.
• Handle accrual accounting and ensure completeness and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Maintain and manage the fixed assets register, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and physical asset verification.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review, analyze, and validate expense transactions for accuracy, proper classification, and budget compliance.
• Prepare detailed expense analysis reports to support management decision-making.
• Ensure accurate stock accounting and maintain a proper understanding of inventory movement within the poultry business operations.
• Operate and manage ERP workflows, including:
  • Receipt Voucher (RV)
  • Payment Voucher (PV)
  • Purchase Order (PO)
  • Goods Received Note (GRN)
• Ensure all accounting entries comply with internal control policies and applicable financial standards.
• Support both internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Supervise and guide accounting staff to ensure accuracy, productivity, and compliance with company policies.

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ICAN certification is mandatory.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification will be an added advantage.

Experience & Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
• Previous experience in poultry, agriculture, or the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and financial analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
