Our line of frozen products has expanded to include the finest quality of chicken, potatoes, cheese, vegetables, seafood, and ice cream products in the market.

Job Title: Quality Health Safety & Environment (QHSE) Officer - Abuja

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• The QHSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong experience in food manufacturing environments, with sound knowledge of food safety systems, workplace safety, quality control processes, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety procedures, and operational policies
• Conduct routine quality inspections and audits across production and operational areas
• Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety regulations
• Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain quality documentation, records, and reports
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems

Health & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company safety policies
• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce workplace hazards
• Coordinate safety trainings, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees
• Ensure availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Monitor emergency preparedness systems including fire safety equipment and evacuation procedures

Environmental Management:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices
• Monitor waste disposal processes and environmental impact controls
• Support implementation of environmental management systems and improvement initiatives
• Maintain environmental records and regulatory documentation

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare QHSE reports and performance analysis for management review
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
• Ensure all departments comply with QHSE standards and procedures
• Promote a strong safety and quality culture across the organization
• Monitor hygiene and sanitation standards within production and operational areas
• Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety, operational quality, and environmental performance

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Food Science, Industrial Safety, Engineering, Microbiology, or related discipline
• Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent will be an added advantage
• Certification in HACCP, ISO 22000, or food safety management systems is preferred

Experience & Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in QHSE roles within food manufacturing industries
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and quality management systems
• Good understanding of occupational health and safety regulations
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
• Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professionalism
