The Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku is one of the three polytechnics in Delta State, Nigeria, Located in Ogwashi-Uku Delta State, Nigeria. The polytechnic offers National Diplomas and Higher National Diplomas in Art and Design (Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, and General Art), Business (Accountancy, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Mass Communication, Office Technology Management and Production Operations Management), Engineering (Agriculture and Bio-environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Foundry Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Welding and Fabrication) and Applied Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics and Hospitality and Tourism Management).

Job Title: Polytechnic Librarian

Location: Ogwashi-Uku, Delta

Job Summary

• The Polytechnic Librarian is a Principal Officer and Head of the Polytechnic Library, responsible to the Rector for the overall administration, development, and coordination of library and information services.

Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must:

• Possess a good Honours Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science (minimum of Second Class Lower Division).
• Hold a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science; a Ph.D. will be an added advantage.
• Be registered with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• Have at least fifteen (15) years of cognate experience in tertiary institutions, with substantial experience in a Polytechnic or comparable TVET institution.
• Have served as Chief Librarian for not less than five (5) years.
• Be ICT compliant with demonstrable competence in digital library systems.
• Show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Terms of Appointment

• The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years.
• Salary and conditions of service shall be as applicable to Principal Officers in Nigerian Polytechnics.
