Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
• The role requires strong vendor management, cost control, and the ability to support technical and operational procurement needs, particularly within a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing:

• Identify, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers and vendors
• Source technical services such as installation, maintenance, and logistics
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
• Purchase goods and services from approved and newly qualified suppliers

Vendor Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations and engagement forums
• Ensure vendor compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements

Negotiation & Cost Control:

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers
• Monitor market trends to ensure competitive pricing
• Drive cost savings without compromising quality
• Manage tendering and bidding processes, including supplier selection and contract finalization

Purchase Order Management:

• Prepare and process purchase orders accurately
• Track deliveries and ensure timely supply of goods and services
• Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, shortages, or damaged goods

Inventory & Logistics Coordination:

• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels
• Ensure availability of critical materials and equipment
• Support project teams with timely procurement for operational and project needs

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Support audit and reporting requirements

Technical Procurement Support:

• Collaborate with internal departments to understand technical requirements
• Ensure procured materials meet required specifications and standards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Cost savings achieved
• Supplier performance and reliability
• Timeliness of procurement processes
• Compliance with procurement policies

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field

Experience:

• 2–5 years of procurement experience (telecommunications or technology sector preferred)
• Experience in technical or telecom equipment sourcing is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Vendor management and relationship-building ability
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of technical procurement (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Salary
N120,000 - N200,000 monthly.
