Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced and result-driven Senior Associate to join our reputable law firm in Ikoyi, Lagos.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong litigation experience, exceptional legal drafting skills, and the ability to manage complex legal matters independently and within a team environment.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in handling litigation matters, supervising junior associates, representing clients in superior courts, and providing strategic legal support to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters from commencement to conclusion.
• Represent clients before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court where necessary.
• Draft legal documents, including Appellate and Respondent Briefs, Notices of Appeal, motions, pleadings, and other court processes.
• Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions and advisory services.
• Manage and supervise legal teams on assigned matters.
• Develop case strategies and ensure effective representation of clients’ interests.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, statutes, regulations, and judicial precedents.
• Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and negotiations as required.
• Ensure compliance with professional ethics and legal standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
• Must be called to the Nigerian Bar and possess a valid practising licence.
• 8 – 12 years’ post-call experience in a reputable law firm.
• Proven experience appearing before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and/or Supreme Court.
• Strong experience in conducting trials from start to finish.
• Excellent drafting skills, particularly in Appellate and Respondent Briefs and Notices of Appeal.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role is required.
• Strong understanding of current judicial decisions, statutes, and legal procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-playing abilities.
