Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

• We are looking for a vigilant, disciplined, and professional Security Officer to protect CTL Atlantis’s project sites, personnel, materials, and equipment.
• As a Security Officer, you are the first and last line of defence on site. You will control access, monitor activity, prevent theft and unauthorised entry, and respond to incidents promptly and professionally. Your presence and conduct directly protect the company’s assets and contribute to a safe working environment for everyone on site.
• This role requires someone who is alert, trustworthy, physically fit, and able to remain calm and effective under pressure — at any hour of the day or night.

Shift structure:

• This is a shift-based role. Security cover is required around the clock across active project sites. You must be available for day shifts, night shifts, and weekend duties on a rotating roster.

What you will do day to day

• Control and monitor all entry and exit points no person enters or leaves the site without proper identification and authorisation
• Conduct regular foot patrols of the entire site perimeter, storage areas, and key structures at defined intervals throughout your shift
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date occurrence log recording all incidents, visitors, deliveries, and notable events during your shift
• Inspect all vehicles entering and leaving the site to prevent unauthorised removal of materials, tools, or equipment
• Monitor and protect all materials, equipment, and company assets stored on site against theft, vandalism, and damage
• Respond immediately and appropriately to any security incident, emergency, or alarm and report it to the Construction Manager without delay
• Enforce site rules including PPE compliance at the gate, restricted area access, and after-hours access protocols
• Receive and log all deliveries and visitors during your shift and notify the relevant site personnel promptly
• Coordinate with other security personnel during shift handover to ensure continuity all incidents and outstanding matters must be communicated clearly
• Report any suspicious activity, structural vulnerability, or security risk you observe to the Construction Manager immediately
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and conduct yourself with courtesy and firmness at all times

What we are looking for

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a security role, experience on a construction site, industrial facility, or gated estate is a strong advantage
• A valid security licence or certification from a recognised Nigerian security training institution
• Physically fit and capable of conducting foot patrols, standing for extended periods, and responding quickly in an emergency
• Literate and numerate you must be able to write clear, accurate entries in an occurrence log
• Alert, observant, and able to remain focused throughout long shifts including overnight duties
• Honest, trustworthy, and of proven good character references will be verified and a background check will be conducted
• Calm under pressure able to de-escalate situations professionally before they develop
• Respectful and firm able to enforce rules without being aggressive or dismissive

What this role requires:

• Full availability for shift-based work including nights, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster
• Physical presence on site for the full duration of every assigned shift
• Zero tolerance for sleeping on duty, abandoning post, or facilitating unauthorised access
• Consistent, disciplined record-keeping - every event logged, every shift
• Immediate and transparent reporting of all incidents to the Construction Manager, regardless of severity

What success looks like

• Zero unauthorised persons gain access to the site on your shift
• All incidents, no matter how minor, are recorded in the occurrence log on the day they happen
• No materials, tools, or equipment are removed from site without proper documentation and authorisation
• Patrols are conducted consistently and on schedule throughout every shift
• Shift handovers are clean, the incoming officer is fully briefed on all events and outstanding matters
• The Construction Manager receives no complaints about site security lapses, access breaches, or undocumented incidents.
