Job Summary
The Private Banking Officer is responsible for driving the implementation of the Bank’s Personal and Private Banking strategy through customer acquisition, relationship management, portfolio growth, and profitability enhancement.
The role focuses on delivering tailored banking and wealth management solutions to High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs) while ensuring exceptional customer experience and long-term client retention.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, identifying business opportunities, increasing market penetration, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth in alignment with the Bank’s overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the execution of the Private Banking strategy through balance sheet growth, customer acquisition, customer retention, and profitability targets.
Achieve revenue and profitability objectives through effective sales strategies, revenue maximisation, and prudent cost management.
Support the implementation of Bank-wide go-to-market initiatives by collaborating with relevant departments and stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
Drive growth through the acquisition of new customers and the development of quality banking products, propositions, and tailored financial solutions.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
Implement effective customer engagement and loyalty initiatives to deepen Private Banking market penetration and enhance retention.
Serve as the primary relationship contact for clients by delivering proactive support and personalised banking solutions aligned with customer needs.
Recommend and explain banking products, investment opportunities, and financial services based on clients’ financial objectives and requirements.
Ensure compliance with approved risk limits, delinquency standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Coordinate the development and deployment of value propositions, target segment strategies, and business plans for the Private Banking portfolio.
Work closely with sales teams to ensure smooth transition and onboarding of clients into relationship management processes.
Develop and monitor strategic sales and marketing campaigns to increase market share and generate new business opportunities.
Identify and maximise cross-selling opportunities within existing client portfolios to improve customer lifetime value.
Monitor portfolio performance and profitability while ensuring product integrity and portfolio health.
Refer clients to internal financial specialists or relevant departments where specialised support is required.
Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients and ensure seamless fulfilment of products and services through effective stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 years’ banking experience in sales, credit, or relationship management within the Private Banking segment.
Strong knowledge of Financial Analysis, Financial Advisory Services, Banking Operations, Leasing, Trade Services, and banking regulations.
Hands-on experience in Credit Analysis & Administration, Relationship Management, Customer Service, Sales, and Product Development at a managerial level.
Good understanding of economic trends and their impact on the banking and finance industry.
Proven experience in preparing and completing credit applications successfully.

Salary
N1,000,000 - N3,000,000 monthly.
