Job Title: Partnership Manager, Public Sector

Description
The Partnership Manager, Public Sector is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening strategic relationships with government institutions, agencies, ministries, and other public sector entities.
The role focuses on driving business growth, deposit mobilisation, risk asset creation, and the delivery of tailored financial solutions that address the unique operational and financial requirements of public sector clients.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the Bank’s public sector portfolio through strategic engagement, business development, relationship management, and structured financial solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across government agencies, ministries, departments, and public institutions.
Understand the financial needs, operational priorities, and strategic objectives of public sector clients and provide tailored banking solutions to meet those requirements.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public sector to expand the Bank’s client base and market share.
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute targeted acquisition strategies for public sector clients.
Provide financial advisory services and solutions to public sector clients, including funding strategies, investment opportunities, liquidity management, and risk management solutions.
Monitor and stay informed about government policies, fiscal regulations, budgetary allocations, and economic trends that may impact public sector clients and banking opportunities.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling the Bank’s products and services, including transaction banking, deposits, loans, and debt financing solutions.
Work closely with product specialists and internal teams to deliver integrated and comprehensive banking solutions to clients.
Assess and manage risks associated with public sector relationships, including credit risk, regulatory compliance, operational risk, and market exposure.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the Bank’s interests and maintain portfolio quality.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Product Management teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Conduct market intelligence and industry research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and developments within the public sector landscape.
Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with approved credit, regulatory, and operational standards.
Maintain effective communication with clients to strengthen customer loyalty, retention, and long-term business relationships.
Support the establishment and development of the Public Sector Banking structure within the Bank.
Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and governance requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of ₦15 Billion liability generation target within 6 months, comprising:
50% Low-Cost Deposits
50% Term Deposits
Achievement of ₦10 Billion risk asset generation target within 6 months.
Successful establishment and operationalisation of the Public Sector Banking structure.
Net Operating Income performance.
Profit Before Tax (PBT) achievement.
Cost-to-Income Ratio performance.
Loan-to-Deposit Ratio management.
Deposit growth and portfolio mix performance.
Key account acquisition and penetration rate.
Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio management.
Charge-off ratio performance.
Customer retention and relationship growth metrics.
Compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 years’ banking experience in sales, relationship management, and credit functions.
At least 4 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of Accounting, Financial Analysis, Banking Operations, Business Law, Trade Services, Leasing, and Financial Advisory services.
Familiarity with banking core applications and financial systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Strong credit risk assessment, relationship management, networking, and business development skills.
Excellent business writing and presentation skills.
Good understanding of economic trends and their implications on the banking and finance industry.

N1,000,000 - N3,000,000 monthly.
