Job Title: Production Manager

Job Summary
The Production Manager will oversee and coordinate all production activities within the plastic manufacturing plant to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations.
The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, especially injection moulding and blow moulding operations, with the ability to drive productivity, quality, machine efficiency, and workforce discipline.
The candidate will be responsible for meeting production targets, minimizing downtime and wastage, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and managing production personnel effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations:
Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities.
Ensure production targets are achieved within required timelines.
Monitor machine efficiency, productivity, and material usage.
Coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands.
Ensure smooth operation of injection moulding, blow moulding, and other plastic processing machines.
Machine & Process Management:
Possess strong understanding of:
Injection moulding processes
Blow moulding processes
Plastic extrusion processes
PET production processes
Regrinding and recycling operations
Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime.
Work closely with maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance is carried out effectively.
Troubleshoot production and process-related issues.
Quality Control:
Ensure products meet company and customer quality standards.
Reduce production defects, material wastage, and rejections.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives within production operations.
Staff Supervision:
Supervise production supervisors, operators, technicians, and casual workers.
Ensure proper manpower allocation and shift coordination.
Enforce discipline, productivity, and compliance among workers.
Train and mentor production staff on best operational practices.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all factory safety regulations and operational procedures.
Maintain clean and safe production environment.
Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to workplace safety standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Monitor raw material consumption and production output.
Maintain accurate production records and downtime reports.

Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in:
Industrial Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Polymer Technology
Production Engineering
Or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in production operations within a plastic manufacturing company.
Must have hands-on experience in:
Injection moulding machines
Blow moulding machines
Other plastic manufacturing processes.
At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of plastic production processes and machine operations.
Knowledge of production planning and process optimization.
Ability to troubleshoot production and machine-related issues.
Understanding of quality control systems and manufacturing KPIs.
Good knowledge of preventive maintenance coordination.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Strong organizational and reporting skills.
Additional Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work rotational shifts when required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
