Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator to manage, optimize, secure, and maintain the organization’s database systems.
• The ideal candidate will ensure high database availability, performance optimization, data security, backup management, and disaster recovery while supporting business continuity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain relational and non-relational databases for optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance issues and downtime risks.
• Implement database security measures including encryption, access control, and compliance protocols.
• Develop and manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Lead database upgrades, migrations, and deployments with minimal disruption.
• Maintain accurate database documentation and change management records.
• Collaborate with developers and technical teams to support business and operational needs.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and provide technical support to users and internal teams.
• Ensure database uptime, integrity, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Strong experience with SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database scripting languages.
• Proven expertise in database performance tuning, backup/recovery, clustering, and replication.
• Experience managing large-scale relational and non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of database security, compliance, and access management.
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an added advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, MCDBA, or AWS Database Speciality are highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary
N500,000 – N550,000 Gross monthly.
