Job Summary

• We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in the upstream oil and gas sector.
• This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and challenging environment focused on energy exploration and production.
• The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for power generation, high and low voltage distribution, and the design and maintenance of ESD and fire & gas systems.
• Key duties also include managing generators, switchgears, transformers, and other critical electrical infrastructure.
• Candidates can expect to engage in complex projects that ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems.
• This position provides a platform to apply technical expertise while contributing to the success of major energy operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and oversee power generation systems to ensure a reliable and efficient energy supply in upstream oil and gas operations.
• Manage high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical distribution networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Implement and maintain Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas (F&G) detection systems to safeguard personnel and assets.
• Specify, install, and commission electrical equipment, including generators, switchgears, and transformers, to support operational requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical infrastructure to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems within overall project designs and operational workflows.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies in all electrical engineering activities.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for electrical systems during project execution and operational phases.

Qualifications/ Requirements
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry
• Proven expertise in power generation systems, including high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical distribution
• Strong knowledge of Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems design and implementation
• Hands-on experience with electrical infrastructure components such as generators, switchgears, and transformers
• Proficiency in electrical design software and industry standards relevant to oil and gas operations
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• The ideal would be required to travel to the site occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
• Experience with electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas sector
• Familiarity with project management principles and experience supporting large-scale engineering projects.
