The Head of Human Resources will serve as the strategic HR leader, responsible for shaping and driving the people agenda across the organisation’s multi-country operations. This role will be instrumental in aligning HR strategy with business expansion goals, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned to scale sustainably while maintaining operational excellence.
The successful candidate will bring a strong balance of strategy and execution, with the ability to design frameworks, influence leadership, and drive consistency across both corporate and field operations.
KeyResponsibilities
Develop and drive the enterprise-wide HR strategy aligned with the organisation’s growth, expansion, and operational objectives.
Lead organisational design and workforce planning to support multi-country scale and operational efficiency.
Establish and standardise HR governance frameworks, policies, and systems across all operating locations.
Partner with executive leadership to strengthen organisational capability, leadership effectiveness, and succession planning.
Drive a high-performance culture through the design and implementation of performance management and accountability frameworks.
Provide strategic oversight on employee relations, risk management, and compliance across jurisdictions.
Lead HR integration and change management initiatives in support of business expansion and transformation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Relevant professional HR certifications (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
15 -17 years of progressive HR experience, with 3 - 5 years in a Head of HR role of a medium to large scale organisation.
Proven experience supporting organisational growth and expansion across multiple locations or countries.
Experience within maritime, oil and gas, logistics, or other operationally intensive industries is preferred.
Demonstrated success in organisational design, performance management, and leading business transformation initiatives.
Strong knowledge of labour laws and HR practices within Nigeria; exposure to other African markets is an advantage.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide HR frameworks and systems.
Strong capability in workforce planning, organisational design, and talent strategy.
Experience leveraging HR analytics and data to drive decision-making.
Strong understanding of operational HR within complex, field-based environments.
Strategic and commercially aware mindset.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
