Job Title: Cybersecurity Officer (NYSC)

Job Summary

• We are seeking a versatile Cybersecurity Officer to support the security, stability, and compliance of the IT environment.
• This role requires a balanced mix of hands-on technical support, security monitoring, and regulatory compliance to ensure systems and data remain protected and aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the organization’s IT systems, networks, and user environment to ensure optimal performance and security
• Monitor systems and proactively identify vulnerabilities, threats, or unusual activities, taking appropriate action where necessary.
• Manage user access, system configurations, and ensure adherence to security best practices
• Conduct routine system checks, updates, patching, and backups to maintain system integrity
• Assist in risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance reviews to ensure alignment with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NDPR)
• Develop, update, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and security guidelines
• Maintain accurate documentation for systems, incidents, and compliance activities.
• Provide technical support to staff while promoting security awareness and best practices
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors or regulators as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1–3years’ relevant experience in IT and/or cybersecurity
• Strong working knowledge of systems, networks, and basic security principles
• Familiarity with security frameworks and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NDPR)
• Experience with security tools and general IT support functions
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation abilities

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

• CompTIA Security+
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
