Job Title: Chinese Translator (Mandarin–English)

Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Chinese Translator to facilitate effective communication between Chinese-speaking expatriates and local employees, clients, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will provide accurate oral interpretation and written translation services to support business operations within an agrochemical manufacturing and distribution environment.
• The ideal candidate must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience working in manufacturing, agrochemical, chemical, agricultural, or industrial organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time verbal interpretation between Mandarin Chinese and English during meetings, training sessions, negotiations, site visits, and business discussions.
• Translate written documents, reports, emails, contracts, technical manuals, operating procedures, policies, and correspondence from Chinese to English and vice versa.
• Support communication between Chinese expatriate staff and local employees across all departments.
• Assist management during interactions with government agencies, regulatory authorities, suppliers, customers, and business partners.
• Translate technical and operational information related to agrochemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, production processes, and safety procedures.
• Accompany expatriate staff during factory inspections, field visits, customer meetings, and official engagements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information and business communications.
• Ensure translation accuracy and consistency in all business documents.
• Support HR, administration, procurement, finance, production, and sales departments with language-related requirements.
• Prepare bilingual reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and training materials.
• Assist in cross-cultural communication and relationship management between Chinese and local teams.

Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Translation, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• HSK certification (Level 5 or Level 6) is highly desirable.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience as a Chinese Translator or Interpreter.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, agrochemical, chemical, agricultural, industrial, or FMCG environment will be an added advantage.
• Experience supporting Chinese expatriate management teams is highly preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should:

• Be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Have previous experience working with Chinese expatriates in an agrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, pesticide, manufacturing, or industrial company.
• Be familiar with technical terminology used in agrochemical production and distribution.
• Demonstrate excellent cultural awareness and the ability to bridge communication gaps between Chinese and local teams.
• Be willing to travel occasionally for business meetings, factory visits, customer engagements, and field operations.
