Job Title: Registered Laboratory Technician

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Workdays: Monday- Sunday (with shifts)

Job Summary

• We are seeking a competent and certified Registered Laboratory Technician to join our fast-paced medical / diagnostic facility located in the Rumuola / Rumuoadara axis of Port Harcourt.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and analyzing biological specimens, ensuring all diagnostic tests are performed accurately, efficiently, and in strict compliance with safety and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and safely process patient samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) following strict biohazard and infection control protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests across disciplines such as hematology, microbiology, parasitology, and clinical chemistry.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality. Report any faults immediately.
• Run controls, verify test results, and maintain high standards of quality control to ensure reliability before reporting to senior staff or doctors.
• Record observations and analytical data accurately into the facility’s logbooks or Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment. Properly dispose of hazardous / medical waste.
• Guide patients during specimen collection (e.g., phlebotomy) while ensuring their comfort and maintaining confidentiality.

Job Requirements

• Must possess a National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Science Laboratory Technology.
• Must have a Valid practicing license / registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
• Must possess 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a standard clinical or diagnostic laboratory.
• Candidates residing in or around Rumuola, Rumuoadara, Rumuokoro, or Aba Road axes are highly encouraged to apply for easy daily commute.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, proficiency with laboratory equipment, and excellent computer / documentation skills.

Salary
N80,000 - N90,000 monthly.
