Job Title: Pump Operations Manager

Location: Bwari, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• We are hiring a detail-oriented and physically fit Pump Operations Operator to support concrete pumping operations and develop into a fully competent operator under the guidance of a Senior Concrete Pump Operator. This is a structured learning role focused on safe, efficient pump operations and hands-on site support.
• The role involves assisting with pump setup, pipeline handling, cleaning operations, and progressively learning pump control, safety procedures, and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend all assigned pump deployments and report to the Senior Pump Operator at designated times
• Assist in pump setup, including positioning outriggers, handling pipeline sections, and securing clamps and gaskets
• Support boom extension and general pump preparation under supervision
• Observe and gradually participate in pump operations under direct instruction, including pressure monitoring and stroke rate awareness
• Assist with identifying early signs of blockages and operational irregularities
• Support pipeline cleaning after every pour, including handling cleaning equipment and managing washout procedures
• Help in disassembling and reconnecting pipeline sections during cleaning operations
• Maintain cleanliness of pump unit, including washing exterior and organizing tools and equipment
• Complete training competency log after each deployment, documenting skills learned and areas for improvement
• Strictly comply with PPE requirements on all construction sites at all times
• Never operate pump equipment independently without direct authorisation from the Senior Pump Operator.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 0-1 year experience.
