Job Summary

• We are hiring a skilled and experienced Concrete Pump Operator to safely and efficiently operate concrete pump units on construction sites. The role involves full control of the pumping process, from equipment setup and pre-operation inspection to concrete placement, pipeline cleaning, and equipment return.

Job Description

• You will be responsible for ensuring smooth concrete flow during pours, preventing blockages, maintaining equipment safety standards, and supporting site teams to achieve accurate and timely concrete placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up the concrete pump at construction sites, ensuring proper positioning, stabilisation of outriggers, boom deployment, and priming of pump lines before use
• Conduct full pre-operation inspection including hydraulic system, engine oil, coolant, tyres, boom condition, hoses, seals, and safety devices
• Coordinate with mixer truck drivers to ensure smooth and continuous concrete discharge into the pump hopper
• Monitor pump pressure, flow rate, and stroke rate during operations to detect early signs of blockage or malfunction
• Manage and safely clear pipeline blockages using approved procedures without applying excessive pressure
• Perform full pipeline cleaning after each pour using approved cleaning methods and ensure proper washout disposal
• Supervise pump operations team on-site, enforcing PPE compliance and safe working procedures
• Maintain exclusion zones around the pump and ensure no personnel stand under the boom during operation
• Record and submit detailed pump operation reports after each job, including volume pumped and any issues encountered
• Report all defects, hydraulic faults, boom damage, or safety incidents immediately to management
• Mentor junior operators and trainees on safe and efficient pump operation techniques
• Manage pump consumables and spare parts, ensuring availability and timely replenishment

Requirements

• WAEC/NECO certificate
• Valid operator’s licence for concrete pump units
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience operating truck-mounted or static concrete pump units
• Valid Nigerian driver’s licence (for truck-mounted units)
• Certification in concrete pump operation (where available)
• Physically fit and able to work on active construction sites and handle heavy pipeline components
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment handling

Salary

• N137,000
