Job Title: Business Intelligence & Analytics Officer
Location: NESCO (Nigeria) Limited’s Head Office, Bukuru, Jos South, Plateau
Purpose of the Job
The Business Intelligence and Analytics Officer are responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making across the power company.
Reporting to the Head of IT, the officer designs and implements data models, dashboards, and reports while ensuring data integrity and alignment with business goals
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence and Analytics officer shall therefore be responsible for but not limited, for the following:
Gather, clean, and analyse large datasets from various internal systems (e.g., billing, metering, maintenance)
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
Conduct trend analyses to identify business opportunities, risks, and areas for operational improvement
Design and implement data models and business intelligence (BI) solutions using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView
Collaborate with IT and business teams to create automated processes for data extraction and transformation
Develop predictive models to support revenue forecasting, energy demand prediction, and maintenance planning
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data used for analysis and reporting • Define and enforce data governance policies and standards in collaboration with the IT team
Work closely with various departments, such as operations, finance, and customer service, to understand their data needs and provide insights to support their objectives
Present findings and insights to senior management in a clear and actionable manner
Monitor the performance of key business processes and provide recommendations for optimisation
Analyse customer behaviour patterns, billing efficiency, and system losses to drive operational improvements
Stay updated on the latest BI and analytics technologies and recommend tools and practices to improve the company’s analytics capabilities
Provide training and support to team members on BI tools and techniques
Prepare periodic reports for the attention of the Lead, IT
Perform any other tasks as assigned from time to time by the Lead, IT
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
First Degree (B.SC or H.N.D) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence
