In coordination with the medical training team, plan, organize, and evaluate project activities related to the training of WASH team, in the LFTC and for Outreach activities, in accordance with the protocols established as standards in the Lassa Fever project.
Structuring training activities over time, with topics tailored to the specific context and to the targeted WASH team staff, while providing both theoretical and practical approaches to support knowledge transfer and the effective application of learning.
Accountabilities
WASH in VHF context is the main activity of this position:
Deliver the facilitations & simulations sessions for the learners
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, skills assessments, and observation.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a training schedule for both peak and non‑peak periods, ensuring that each session clearly outlines the training topic, duration, planned dates, and the number and names of participants
Adjust training plans based on feedback and ongoing evaluation to ensure continuous improvement
Implement, update LogBook for each participant
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities/ Responsibilities
Training Needs Assessment:
Conduct regular assessments & learning needs analysis to identify training gaps and skills deficiencies together with the Medical team, with the aim to define the learning activities to be included in the continuous professional development
In collaboration with the project’s WASH/IPC and medical teams, assesses and prioritizes training needs for LFTC and Outreach staff
Design and implement comprehensive training programs:
Tailor training sessions together with experts to address specific needs of the LFTC and Outreach activities, including, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Waste management, Vector control, PPE management and dead body management.
Lead and conduct training sessions, workshops, and simulations for WASH staff using teaching material provided by MSF applying relevant teaching methodology for adult learners
Responsible for practical training organisation, room, material, participant and attendance list.
Use a variety of training methods, including classroom teaching, hands-on practice and e-learning.
Ensure that training sessions are interactive, engaging, and supportive of the staff’s learning styles.
Co facilitates trainings with LF medical training team in the project
Regularly report on training progress, challenges, and outcomes
Safe Burial:
Support the activities of the safe burial biosecurity measures and reviews, with medical teams Managers, WASH Team Leader/ Manager and HP Manager.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health, Civil/Water Engineering or Social Sciences with relevant field experience.
Experience:
Experience in supervision or in a similar role will be considered a strong asset.
Significant experience in water, Hygiene and Sanitation Project.
Strong mastery of WASH standards, with the ability to apply them effectively in the field.
Previous professional experience in training or teaching is preferred, ideally in a humanitarian context.
Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs, as well as exposure to work in humanitarian settings or low resource countries, is highly desirable.
Languages:
English mandatory, Hausa
Knowledge:
Proficiency in computer tools is mandatory (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficiency in Tembo MSF learning platform an asset
