Job Title: Nurse Facilitator / Nurse Trainer

MSF Section / Context Specific Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Preparation and implementation of medical training:
Conduct regular assessments & learning needs analysis to identify training gaps and skills defi-ciencies together the medical team, with the aim to define the learning activities to be included in the continuous professional development
In collaboration with the project’s medical team, assesses and prioritizes training needs for medi-cal and hospital staff.
Review, complete and harmonize the training materials with the help of the MAM, NAM, WASH , IPC, PMR and the LF training team.
Design and implement comprehensive training programs for all nursing and nursing assistant workers
Tailor training sessions together with experts to address specific needs of the hospital, including, infection prevention, medical procedures, and patient management.
Lead and conduct training sessions, workshops, and simulations for medical /paramedical staff using teaching material provided by MSF applying relevant teaching methodology for adult learn-ers
Responsible for practical training organisation, room, material, participant and attendance list
Use a variety of training methods, including classroom teaching, hands-on practice and e-learning.
Provide one-on-one mentoring bed side teaching to staff as needed to reinforce key skills and knowledge.
Ensure that training sessions are interactive, engaging, and supportive of the staff’s learning styles.
Co facilitates trainings with LF training team in the project
Regularly report on training progress, challenges, and outcomes
Use the methodology taught for practical workshops (use of clinical cases, simula-tion, etc.)
Use and integrate the skills acquired during external training (TOF, etc.) in training and teaching.
Facilitate sessions:
Work in collaboration with the LF training team facilitators of the project
Collaborate as closely as possible with the L&D training team at headquarters, with regular feedback of the summary of the training given with MAM and PMR in copy.
The project facilitator Nurse work with the facilitation team for the training im-plementing, with the help of the admin, HR and medical hierarchy, the practical organiza-tion of the training: room rental, provision of equipment, recovery time granted to par-ticipants, establishment of certificates if necessary.
Participates in the implementation of a chronogram with a training plan outside and during the peak, specifying the subject of training, the duration, the date, the num-ber and name of the participants, and the name of the medical speaker. The training re-quires the participation and involvement of the medical team in the field; it is their re-sponsibility to contribute to maintaining the quality of care.
Participates in the implementation of the training plan (e.g.: presentation of a med-ical topic, a case analysis, an RMM on regular basis).
Participates in the implementation of a regular practical session (e.g. simulation, workshops, video analysis, practical exercise with triage case simulation with manikin, patient-caregiver role-play).
Training follow-up:
Support the consolidation of knowledge in terms of norms, standards, guidelines and work tools
Strengthen the skills of the medical and paramedical staff by offering weekly team or individualized support such as bedside training, teaching
Offer training workshops
Participates in the implementation of training sessions, workshops to be repeated during the recruitment phases
Deliver the facilitations & simulations sessions for the learners
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, skills assessments, and observation.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a training schedule for both peak and non‑peak periods, ensuring that each session clearly outlines the training topic, duration, planned dates, and the number and names of participants
Adjust training plans based on feedback and ongoing evaluation to ensure continuous improve-ment
Implement, update Logbook for each participant
Mortality review:
Supports the activities of the mortality, morbidity and medical review of the week's death files in support of the, NAM , MAM and the medical team .
Requirements
Education:
Registered Nurse degree specialized in paediatrics or with significant work experience in paediatric
Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs, as well as exposure to work in humanitarian settings or low resource countries, is highly desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience is mandatory. Experience with MSF or Experience in supervision or in a similar role will be considered a strong asset.
Significant experience in paediatric hospital wards
Strong mastery of current protocols, with the ability to apply them effectively in the field.
Previous professional experience in training or teaching is preferred, ideally in a clinical or humanitarian context.
Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs, as well as exposure to work in humanitarian settings or low resource countries, is highly desirable.
Languages:
English, Hausa
Knowledge:
Proficiency in computer tools is mandatory (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet). Proficiency in Tembo MSF learning platform an asset
