Posted on Thu 04th Jun, 2026 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (0 comments)

The PATH4AIPOCUS Project is a three-year initiative funded by the Gates Foundation. The project aligns with national and global Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition Health (MNCNH) priorities by supporting the development, validation, and scale-up of Artificial Intelligence–enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound (AI-POCUS) within antenatal care (ANC) services in Nigeria.

The project aims to generate robust evidence on health system readiness—including service delivery regulations, policy alignment, competency frameworks, financing mechanisms, and implementation feasibility—to inform sustainable integration of AI-enabled POCUS into routine maternal healthcare in resource-constrained settings.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: State Coordinator

Location: Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti
Employment Type: Contract

Description

  • The State Coordinator will provide technical and operational oversight for PATH4AIPOCUS implementation at the state level.
  • Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the State Coordinator will ensure effective facility-level deployment, stakeholder engagement, quality service delivery, and performance monitoring.
  • The role requires strong familiarity with state health systems, maternal health programming, and field-level implementation dynamics.

Responsibilities
State-Level Implementation:

  • Coordinate execution of project activities within assigned state(s).
  • Lead facility readiness assessments and site activation processes.
  • Oversee training, deployment, and operationalization of AI-enabled POCUS devices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the State Ministry of Health, SPHCDA, facility leadership, Ward Development Committees, and professional bodies.
  • Facilitate state-level stakeholder consultations and technical review meetings.
  • Support ethical approval processes and regulatory compliance at state level.

Supervision & Quality Assurance:

  • Supervise trained providers to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and referral pathways.
  • Monitor competency development and provide supportive supervision.
  • Ensure implementation meets quality assurance and safety standards.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and report key performance indicators (ANC attendance, referrals, institutional deliveries, device utilization rates).
  • Submit monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  • Support state-level costing, evaluation, and health systems assessment activities.

Risk Management & Community Engagement:

  • Identify and escalate operational risks including security, workforce gaps, and equipment challenges.
  • Support culturally appropriate community engagement strategies to enhance uptake.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or related discipline (possession of a postgraduate academic or professional degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in maternal and child health program implementation.
  • Experience working with State Ministries of Health and Primary Health Care Development Agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of local health systems and socio-cultural contexts.
  • Demonstrated skills in reporting, stakeholder engagement, and supervision.
  • Proficiency in relevant local language(s) is an added advantage.

Application Closing Date
18th June, 2026.
