Job Title: Accountant - Food Production

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Accountant will manage and oversee all financial aspects of the food production company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial planning.
• The role requires close collaboration with management to support business growth, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Monitor daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, payments, receipts) and maintain accurate records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Monitor production costs, raw materials, and overheads to ensure accurate cost accounting.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
• Implement and maintain internal control systems for financial transactions.
• Collaborate with management on financial planning, investment, and business strategies.
• Supervise and guide any accounting staff or assistants if applicable.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Must have 1-2 years’ experience, ideally in food production, FMCG, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of integrity.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
