Job Title: Farm Tractor Operator

Job Summary 

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Farm Tractor Operator to join our agricultural team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining tractors and other farm machinery used in the cultivation of maize, cassava, watermelon, and various vegetable crops.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and farm implements for land preparation, ploughing, harrowing, ridging, bed making, planting, spraying, and harvesting activities.
• Prepare seedbeds for maize, cassava, watermelon, and vegetable production.
• Carry out routine tractor maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
• Ensure proper handling and safe operation of all farm machinery and equipment.
• Assist in irrigation, fertilizer application, and crop protection activities when required.
• Report machinery faults and coordinate repairs promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of machine usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
• Support general farm operations to ensure timely execution of agricultural activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and farm operational guidelines.

Requirements

• 3–5 years' experience operating agricultural tractors and farm machinery.
• Ability to operate implements such as ploughs, harrows, ridgers, planters, boom sprayers, and trailers.
• Good understanding of crop production practices for maize, cassava, watermelon, and vegetable farming.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a farm environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is an added advantage.
