Our laboratories culture tissues, grow and analyze bacteria, and use biotechnology to develop plants that are immune to today’s harms.

Job Title: Laboratary Cleaner

Job Summary

• We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and detail-oriented Laboratory Cleaner to join our Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and contamination-free laboratory environment, ensuring laboratory bottles, glassware, and equipment are properly cleaned and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize laboratory work areas, benches, floors, and storage areas.
• Wash, rinse, sterilize, and properly arrange laboratory bottles, jars, flasks, beakers, test tubes, and other laboratory wares.
• Assist in preparing laboratory materials for sterilization and autoclaving.
• Ensure laboratory waste is properly collected and disposed of according to established procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and furniture.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies when necessary.
• Support laboratory staff in maintaining a contamination-free working environment.
• Follow laboratory hygiene, safety, and biosecurity protocols at all times.
• Perform any other cleaning and housekeeping duties assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE / WAEC qualification.
• Previous experience in laboratory cleaning, hospital cleaning, housekeeping, or a related role is an added advantage.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Good physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Honest, reliable, and hardworking.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
• Ability to handle laboratory materials carefully and safely.
