Job Title: Accountant - Hotel

Location: Lagos

The Role

• Our client is seeking a highly meticulous, analytical, and experienced Accountant.
• As the Accountant, you will manage the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring compliance with international hospitality accounting standards and Nigerian tax laws.
• You will partner closely with department heads and executive management to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest levels of financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, P&L reports
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor hotel expenditures, analyze variances, and work with the Food & Beverage and Operations teams to manage inventory and reduce waste.
• Revenue Audit: Oversee the daily night audit process, ensuring all room, banquet, and ancillary revenues are accurately reconciled and recorded.
• Tax & Compliance: Manage timely filing and remittance of all statutory deductions (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT) in compliance with FIRS and LIRS regulations.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit management, and daily cash flow forecasting.
• Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal control policies to safeguard hotel assets and prevent fraud.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualification is mandatory.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in the hospitality industry is mandatory
• Proficiency in hospitality ERP systems QuickBooks, and advanced MS Excel.
• Exceptional analytical skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
