Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis and management of visual disorders, prescription of corrective lenses, and patient education.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
Diagnose and manage refractive errors and common eye conditions.
Prescribe and dispense corrective lenses, spectacles, and contact lenses as appropriate.
Detect signs of ocular diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary.
Provide patient education on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of prescribed visual aids.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation.
Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
Participate in community eye health programs and awareness campaigns.
Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development activities.
Educational Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or Bachelor of Optometry from a recognized institution.
Valid license to practice as an Optometrist.
Registration with the relevant professional and regulatory body.
Experience:
Minimum of 1–3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital, eye clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
Freshly licensed Optometrists with strong clinical skills may also apply.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in optometry practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret clinical findings and develop appropriate management plans.
Good patient counseling and education skills.
Proficiency in the use of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and empathy.
