Job Title: Civil Structural Engineer

Location: Lagos

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly experienced and motivatedCivil/Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing civil and structural engineering activities across Conceptual Studies, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) phases of oil and gas projects.
• The role requires strong technical expertise in the design and analysis of onshore and offshore facilities, brownfield modifications, structural integrity assessments, and multidisciplinary project coordination while ensuring compliance with applicable international codes, client specifications, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design & Analysis:

• Lead the development of civil and structural engineering deliverables during Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform structural analysis and design of:
  • Offshore platforms, wellhead platforms, conductor support structures, jackets, and topsides.
  • Onshore process facilities, pipe racks, equipment foundations, buildings, control rooms, substations, and utility structures.
  • Storage tank foundations, vessel foundations, flare structures, and support systems.
• Develop structural design criteria, design philosophies, basis of design documents, and technical specifications.
• Perform calculations and analyses for:
  • Dead, live, wind, seismic, wave, current, blast, and operational loads.
  • Foundation systems including shallow foundations, piled foundations, and special foundations.
  • Structural integrity and fitness-for-service assessments.
• Review geotechnical reports and establish foundation design requirements.

Project Development Activities

• Participate in conceptual studies and feasibility assessments.
• Develop structural concepts and evaluate alternative solutions based on safety, constructability, operability, and cost.
• Support plot plan development and facility layout optimization.
• Contribute to CAPEX estimates and project execution strategies during early project phases.

FEED & Detailed Engineering:

• Produce and review:
  • Structural General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Structural Steel Details.
  • Foundation Layouts and Details.
  • Design Calculations.
  • Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
  • Scope of Work documents.
  • Technical Requisitions and Datasheets.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and HSE disciplines.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet project quality and schedule requirements.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Lead design reviews, model reviews, constructability reviews, and technical workshops.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by team members.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Compliance & Quality:

• Ensure designs comply with applicable international codes and standards.
• Support implementation of company Quality Management System requirements.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with project HSE requirements and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Registered Engineer with relevant professional bodies (COREN, NSE, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience in Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Engineering Design projects.
• Experience with both greenfield and brownfield developments.

Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in one or more of the following:

• STAAD.Pro
• STAAD Foundation Advanced
• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Navisworks
• Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent report writing and technical documentation abilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Project coordination and stakeholder management experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in multidisciplinary EPC/EPCIC project environments.
