Job Title: Coconut / Agroforestry Supervisor / Technician

Location: Warri, Delta

About the Role

• A fast-growing agribusiness and climate-smart infrastructure companyseeking for a Coconut & Agroforestry Supervisor/Technician to support the development and management of coconut plantations and agroforestry systems.
• The role focuses on nursery operations, field establishment, correct planting practices, spacing compliance, and accurate field documentation to ensure strong plantation performance and long-term productivity.

Key Responsibilities
Nursery Operations:

• Supervise coconut and tree crop nursery activities from seedling to transplant stage
• Ensure proper seed handling, germination, potting, irrigation, and seedling health management
• Maintain nursery hygiene, pest and disease control, and uniform seedling quality
• Coordinate timely hardening and transfer of seedlings to field sites

Field Establishment & Agroforestry Implementation:

• Support land preparation and layout of plantation and agroforestry plots
• Ensure correct planting spacing, alignment, and field layout standards are followed
• Supervise transplanting and early establishment activities
• Monitor plant survival rates and coordinate gap filling/replanting

Field Monitoring & Records:

• Maintain accurate field records including planting dates, spacing, survival rates, and inputs used
• Track crop establishment progress and early growth performance
• Support routine field reporting and documentation for management review
• Ensure traceability of planting materials and field activities

Technical & Operational Support;

• Support implementation of best agronomic practices for coconut and associated agroforestry crops
• Assist in identifying field challenges such as pests, nutrient deficiencies, or establishment issues
• Work closely with supervisors to implement corrective field actions
• Conduct routine field inspections and report observations

Requirements
Experience:

• 4–8 years experience in agriculture, preferably in coconut, tree crops, or agroforestry systems
• Strong hands-on experience in nursery management and field crop establishment

Technical Skills:

• Good understanding of nursery propagation techniques
• Knowledge of planting spacing, field layout, and establishment standards
• Ability to maintain structured field records and basic farm data
• Familiarity with pest, disease, and crop stress identification in tree crops

Soft Skills:

• Strong practical field experience and attention to detail
• Ability to supervise workers and ensure compliance with field standards
• Good communication and reporting skills
• High level of discipline, consistency, and accountability.
