The Benue State College of Health Technology, Agasha was established in 1992, by the Benue State Government following the creation of Kogi State out of Benue State in 1991 in which Benue State lost its School of Health Technology to Kogi State due to sharing of assets. The school started with a Vision to train and develop diverse health professionals and create innovative models to empower them to address health disparities in their Community and is on a Mission to advance public and community health, promote health and well-being, prevent disease and disabilities within local communities. Today, the College is among the best State Colleges of Health Technology in Nigeria.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Librarian

Location: Agasha, Benue                       

Responsibilities

• Be responsible to the Provost for the administration of the College Library.
• Coordinate library services and library-related academic support services in the College.
• Oversee the effective operation of the College e-library and information services.

Qualifications Required

• Possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or a degree in a relevant discipline with MLS qualification.
• Be registered with the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• Be computer literate with the ability to manage modern electronic library systems.
• Have at least ten (10) years experience in a tertiary institution library environment.
• Possession of a PhD in a relevant field will be an added advantage

General Provisions:
In addition to the specific requirements above, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Possess an NYSC Discharge (or Exemption) Certificate.
• Possess relevant professional qualifications and hold up-to-date licenses.
• Be computer literate, as the College is transitioning to full digitization and automation of administrative processes.
• Have at least ten (10) years of cognate experience, preferably in a tertiary institution.
• Be no older than 55 years of age at the time of application.

Tenure of Office:

• The tenure of office for all principal officers shall be a single, non-renewable term of five (5) years.
