We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Purpose

• The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of all electrical systems within construction projects.
• The role involves preparing electrical designs and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and supervising on-site installation activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Electrical Design and Planning:

• Design electrical systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare electrical layouts, schematics, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Design power distribution systems, lighting systems, earthing and lightning protection systems, and backup power solutions.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure proper integration of electrical services.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies where required.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

Project Supervision:

• Supervise electrical installation works on construction sites.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect electrical installations and verify compliance with approved drawings and designs.
• Ensure project activities are executed according to approved schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate site activities with project managers, consultants, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical guidance on electrical matters.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct quality inspections and testing of electrical installations.
• Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during project execution.
• Prepare inspection reports, snag lists, and completion reports.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain electrical design documentation and project records.
• Generate progress reports and provide regular updates to management.
• Review contractor submissions, material specifications, and technical proposals.
• Support project commissioning, testing, and handover activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and project supervision.
• Must be COREN registered.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other electrical design software.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with power systems, lighting design, and building services engineering.
