Job Title: Timekeeper
Location: Lagos
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Timekeeper to support project controls by tracking field activities, monitoring progress, maintaining Job Cards, and ensuring accurate production reporting.
The ideal candidate will hold a Technical Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline and have at least one year of experience in progress tracking, production control, or field planning within industrial, offshore, oil and gas, shipbuilding, or maintenance environments.
Experience with piping and structural assembly activities is an advantage.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with field and project controls teams to support the successful execution of industrial and offshore projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
Field Monitoring:
Monitor daily assembly activities at work fronts.
Record activity start dates, interruptions, and completions.
Verify physical progress achieved and report deviations from the planned schedule.
Identify and record constraints impacting activity execution.
Ensure field-collected information accurately reflects the actual status of the work.
Physical Progress Control:
Measure and consolidate physical progress of completed activities.
Update progress controls and reports.
Provide information for short-, medium-, and long-term schedule updates.
Support the development of project performance indicators.
Monitor critical activities and priorities established by the Project Controls Team.
Job Card and Taskify System Management
Utilize the Taskify system daily to monitor and update activities.
Update Job Card status according to field progress.
Ensure traceability of information recorded in the system.
Validate information with supervisors and foremen.
Use computers and tablets for data collection, recording, and updates.
Support the generation of reports and performance indicators through the system.
Ensure Taskify records accurately reflect the actual status of executed activities.
Productivity Control:
Record manpower mobilized by discipline.
Consolidate consumed Man-Hours (MH).
Monitor crew productivity performance.
Identify productivity deviations and report them to the Project Controls Team.
Support the preparation of assembly performance reports.
Pipe Shop Monitoring – Gretha Flotel:
When required, monitor activities performed at the Gretha Flotel Pipe Shop, including:
Small spool fabrication.
Support fabrication and modifications.
Field modifications.
Minor structural modifications.
Fabrication of supplementary items required to maintain assembly progress.
Monitoring activity status.
Reporting progress and constraints to the Project Controls Team.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding, or a related discipline.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in progress measurement, production control, assembly monitoring, or field planning.
Experience within industrial, offshore, oil and gas, shipbuilding, or industrial maintenance projects.
Desirable experience supporting piping and structural steel assembly activities.
Ability to use computers and tablets in an operational environment.
Ability to work with digital management and activity tracking systems.
Willingness to receive training and utilize the Taskify system for Job Card management and activity tracking.
Experience with SharePoint and production management systems is desirable.
Strong organizational and data collection skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with field teams, supervisors, planners, and project stakeholders.
Proactive approach with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality of reporting.
Ability to adapt to dynamic offshore and industrial operational environments.
