Job Title: Professional Pastry Chef

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our hospitality team in Abuja immediately.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in pastry production, cake decoration, bread making, and dessert preparation, with a passion for creativity, quality, and presentation.
  • This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and decorate cakes using fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, and themed cake techniques.
  • Prepare a variety of puff pastries, including croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish pastries, cinnamon rolls, and related products.
  • Produce high-quality desserts such as cheesecakes, parfaits, mousse, tiramisu, brownies, waffles, and pancakes.
  • Manage daily production of pastries and baked treats.
  • Prepare a range of breads, including soft bread, artisan bread, burger buns, sandwich loaves, and dinner rolls.
  • Produce cookies, small chops, and other bakery items.
  • Develop new recipes and innovative product offerings.
  • Ensure attractive presentation and consistent product quality.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and customer demands.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.
  • Strong cake decoration skills, including fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, and ganache work.
  • Hands-on experience in puff pastry production and bread making.
  • Expertise in preparing a wide range of desserts and baked goods.
  • Knowledge of chocolate work and dessert plating is an added advantage.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes and presentations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and excellent teamwork skills.
