Leveraging hybrid-powered cold-room technology and real-time monitoring systems, our client is building solutions that improve product quality, reduce spoilage, increase supply-chain efficiency, and create sustainable value across agriculture, food distribution, healthcare, and logistics ecosystems.
As the organization continues to expand its commercial footprint, it seeks an experienced and results-driven Business Development Lead to accelerate customer acquisition, secure strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in executing the company's commercialization strategy by identifying high-value opportunities, building strategic relationships, validating market demand, and supporting market expansion initiatives across Nigeria.
This role requires an entrepreneurial professional with strong business development experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth:
Identify, prospect, and engage potential customers across agriculture, food processing, healthcare, logistics, supply chain, retail, and related sectors.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through negotiation and contract closure.
Conduct client presentations, commercial discussions, product demonstrations, and proposal meetings.
Drive customer acquisition activities and contribute directly to revenue generation targets.
Support pricing strategy discussions and commercial model validation.
Develop and execute outreach strategies that increase market penetration and customer conversion.
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships that support business growth and market expansion.
Establish relationships with cooperatives, agribusinesses, distributors, logistics providers, retailers, healthcare institutions, development organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
Develop partnership proposals, collaboration frameworks, and commercial agreements.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, networking engagements, and stakeholder meetings.
Market Research & Commercial Insights:
Conduct customer discovery interviews and gather market intelligence.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Provide actionable market insights that support business strategy and product development.
Support the validation of new customer segments, routes, markets, and service offerings.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless customer onboarding and service delivery.
Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for account growth, retention, and expansion.
Proactively address customer concerns and strengthen long-term client relationships.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and partnership engagements.
Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.
Track pipeline performance, conversion metrics, partnership outcomes, and revenue progress.
Support the preparation of business development presentations, reports, and strategic documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Agriculture, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of four (4) years of proven B2B business development, partnerships, sales, or commercial experience.
Experience within technology, logistics, agribusiness, FMCG, healthcare, supply chain, climate-tech, or related sectors is highly desirable.
Demonstrated success in generating revenue, securing partnerships, and managing commercial relationships.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-management capabilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, proposal-writing, and business-development skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using CRM tools.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

N250,000 – 300,000 Net Monthly
