Job Title: Accountant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Victoria Island, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing financial reports, and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.
• The successful candidate must possess strong knowledge of tax administration, be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Compute, prepare, and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions and taxes, including
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audit exercises.
• Monitor financial transactions and identify discrepancies for prompt resolution.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Generate financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline with 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or part qualification will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
  • VLOOKUP
  • XLOOKUP
  • Pivot Tables
• Data validation and reporting functions.
• Hands-on experience using:
  • Peachtree (Sage 50)
  • Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Salary
N350,000 - N370,000 / Month.
