Job Title: Payroll Analyst

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, statutory compliance, payroll reporting, HRIS administration, and the management of outsourced workforce payroll activities.
  • The role serves as a key link between People Operations, Finance, outsourced agencies, and employees to ensure payroll integrity, regulatory compliance, and excellent employee service.

Job Responsibilities
Payroll Administration:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement.
  • Collect, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs, including new hires, exits, attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Calculate and process monthly and quarterly incentive payouts in line with approved reward policies and performance frameworks.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of statutory deductions in line with Nigerian labor and tax regulations.
  • Stay updated on labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Payroll and tax regulations.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly payroll summaries, personnel cost reports, and statutory reports for management and Finance.
  • Support HR and Finance in budgeting and forecasting staff costs.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Support Finance to deliver annual payroll and HR data reports required for financial audits and year-end reviews.
  • Provide HR data required for ESG reporting as requested by external investors and partners.

Systems & Process Improvement:

  • Maintain and update HRIS and payroll systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation to ensure payroll and HRIS functionalities meet organizational needs.

Employee & Outsourced Staff Support:

  • Address payroll-related queries from direct employees in a timely and professional manner, providing clarity on deductions, benefits, and payroll policies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with outsourced agencies, ensuring SLA compliance, accurate documentation, training, payroll inputs, and effective performance management for all agency-managed staff.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, and overall staff performance; validate statutory remittances, invoices, and monthly submissions; and escalate issues related to absenteeism, non-compliance, or poor performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in payroll administration, compensation, HR operations, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian payroll legislation, taxation, pension administration, and labour laws.
  • Experience using HRIS and payroll management systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPM or related certifications will be an added advantage.
