Job Title: Solar Design Engineer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly motivated and detail - oriented Solar Engineer who will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining solar PV and Mini - Grid systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and community - based projects.
• The role also includes supervising installers and technicians on - site to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop solar PV and Mini - Grid systems based on project requirements.
• Conduct site surveys, load assessments, and technical feasibility studies.
• Supervise installers, electricians, and technicians during project execution.
• Ensure proper installation, wiring, mounting, and commissioning of solar and Mini - Grid systems.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within approved standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults on solar and electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical standards, and quality requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project updates.
• Support maintenance, performance monitoring, and optimization of installed systems.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams on project activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients during and after project implementation.
• Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Explain system operations and maintenance procedures to customers.
• Support business development teams with technical proposals and project costing where required.
• Ensure effective management of tools, materials, and installation resources.

• Successful completion of solar projects within timeline and budget.
• Installation quality and system efficiency performance.
• Reduction in installation errors and technical downtime.
• Compliance with HSE standards.
• Client satisfaction and project delivery quality.
• Effective supervision and productivity of installation teams.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Engineering & solar project development or renewable energy projects
• Strong understanding of PV system design, grid connection, and project lifecycle
• Experience with feasibility studies and site assessments

Certification:

• Certified Solar PV Installer certification.
• COREN membership or relevant engineering certification.
• HSE Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.
• Renewable energy or electrical safety certifications are an added advantage

Skill:

• Proficiency in solar design and simulation tools (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope)
