Job Summary

• A reputable Oil & Gas Construction, Fabrication, and Facilities Development company is seeking experienced professionals to join its project team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out abrasive blasting, surface cleaning, and preparation activities to ensure surfaces meet required standards before coating application while maintaining compliance with safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities as per specifications.
• Perform mechanical cleaning, power tool cleaning, and surface profiling.
• Ensure surfaces are properly cleaned and prepared prior to coating application.
• Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 8501, SSPC, and project specifications.
• Follow HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and toolbox talk instructions.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safe operation.
• Assist coating teams in preparation of work areas and containment setups.
• Report unsafe conditions and support continuous improvement on site.
• Perform abrasive blasting and mechanical surface preparation.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for coating applications.
• Operate blasting and preparation equipment safely.
• Ensure required surface cleanliness and profile are achieved.
• Maintain equipment and work areas.
• Follow permit-to-work and HSE procedures.
• Assist coating teams during project execution.

Requirements & Experience

• OND, Trade Test Certificate, or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in surface preparation activities within oil and gas projects.

Core Competence:

• Physical stamina and operational efficiency
• Strong adherence to safety procedures (HSSE compliance)
• Technical skill in surface cleaning and preparation
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
• Teamwork and reliability in industrial settings
• Awareness of quality standards in coating preparation.
