Kaplo is Africa - Our client is a trade infrastructure platform helping African micro and small businesses source goods reliably from global markets. We operate at the intersection of the China-Nigeria-Ghana trade corridor, integrating supplier verification, escrow-style payments, quality inspection, logistics tracking, and inventory management into one platform.
Our customers are market traders, store owners, and importers who move real goods in the real world. Most of them operate offline. They've been burned before by bad suppliers, fake products, and unreliable logistics. We exist to give them the infrastructure they need to trade with confidence.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Sales Manager, Field Operations
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports to: CEO
The Role
We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead and build our field agent network across Lagos and beyond.
This is a ground-up role for someone who understands how to sell to traders, market women, and store owners who have never used a digital procurement tool before and may not trust one.
You will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and managing a team of field sales agents who will introduce our client's solution to physical market traders.
You will set targets, coach performance, track results, and own the conversion numbers from your team.
This is not a desk job. You will be in the market. You will know the markets. You will know your agents. You will know our customers.
What You Will Do
Build and Lead the Field Agent Network:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of field sales agents operating across target markets
Set individual and team targets tied to registrations, activations, and transaction volume
Conduct regular field accompaniments, coaching sessions, and performance reviews
Drive Market Penetration:
Identify and prioritise target markets and trade clusters where Proc360's customer base is concentrated
Build relationships with market associations, union leaders, and key traders to support trust and adoption
Work with the product team to feed ground-level customer insights back into the platform
Own first-contact customer experience and ensure agents represent the brand with credibility
Performance and Reporting:
Monitor agent activity through a sales portal (in development) and field reports
Track conversion rates, churn indicators, and customer feedback at the market level
Deliver weekly and monthly performance reports to leadership
Identify underperformance early and implement structured improvement plans
Sales Strategy and Research:
Research market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer behaviour in target trade zones
Recommend pricing, commission structures, and incentive models for the agent network
Contribute to the development of sales materials, training content, and scripts tailored to offline market audiences
What We Are Looking For
Background:
5+ years of experience in field sales, trade marketing, or distribution, ideally within FMCG, telecoms, or financial services targeting informal/mass market segments
Proven track record managing and growing a field agent or territory sales team
Experience selling into or through physical markets, motor parks, trade clusters, or open market environments in Nigeria
Familiarity with the import trade ecosystem (traders who source goods from China or other international suppliers) is a strong advantage
Skills and Attributes:
Strong people manager — you can coach, motivate, and hold agents accountable without losing them
Comfortable on the ground — you are not afraid of markets, long days, or conversations in Pidgin
Analytically minded — you track numbers and use data to diagnose what is working and what is not
Organised and structured — you can manage multiple agents across multiple locations without things falling through the cracks
Credible communicator — you can explain a digital tool to someone who has never used one and make them want to try it
Self-starter — you do not wait to be told what to do in the field; you see what needs to happen and make it happen
Nice to Have:
Experience working with Chinese suppliers, freight forwarders, or import traders
Prior exposure to fintech, procurement software, or trade finance products
Existing relationships within major Lagos markets (Alaba, Trade Fair, Balogun, Mile 12, etc.)
What We Offer
Competitive base salary with performance incentives tied to team results
The opportunity to build a field sales function from the ground up
Direct access to and collaboration with the founding team
A genuine mission — helping African traders compete on the global stage.
Application Closing Date
19th June, 2026.
