Job Overview
This role leads the retail data and analytics agenda, partnering with executives to align business and analytics strategies.
It oversees data governance, policies, standards and data quality, ensuring resolution of data issues.
Unlock business values using internal and external data for the overall achievement of short term, medium- and long-term goals.
Enable and support “revenue growth” strategies, “cost reduction” strategies, “process improvement strategies”, and “risk reduction” strategies.
Lead data and analytics agenda and serve as a trusted partner to key business decisions.
Foster innovation leveraging, emerging Big Data and analytics technology.
Strengthening competitive advantage through access to better information and insights
Partners with business to align business and data analytics strategies to maximize the value of data and analytics investments
Drive the Retail Bank’s data policies, standards, organization and provides a central authority for resolution on data management issues.
Work with executives, data owners, and data stewards to achieve data accuracy and process requirement goals for all internal and external customers and create data management strategies,
Drive Overall improvement in average revenue per customer, cost optimization and customer experience.
Monitor Retail performance and proactively provide guidance on issues and challenges that could alter achievement of set goals and priorities
Guide in development of data models according to the bank standards, build predictive models and machine learning algorithms
Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts and engineers
Develop and implement the data strategy and roadmap for the organization
Oversee data analytics projects from inception to completion
Drive innovation by exploring new data sources and techniques
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Economics, or related discipline.
Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, MBA or related field will be an added advantage.
Relevant professional and data analytics certifications will be an added advantage.
Must have 8–12 years’ relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, strategy, retail banking analytics or related roles, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Skills/Competence Requirements:
Strong knowledge of retail banking operations, products, customer behavior and performance drivers.
Strong understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, predictive modelling and machine learning concepts.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality management and enterprise data management practices.
Proficiency in analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python/R, Power BI, Tableau or related platforms.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability with ability to translate data into business insights.
Sound understanding of revenue optimization, cost management, customer analytics and risk management principles.
Ability to interpret market trends, customer trends and industry developments to support business decisions.
Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
Excellent presentation, reporting and communication skills.
Strong innovation mindset with ability to leverage emerging analytics technologies and data-driven solutions.
