Job Title: Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer

Job Purpose
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer is responsible for providing objective oversight and assurance that all revenue-related processes, systems, and controls across the organization are efficient, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory standards.
The role focuses on identifying revenue leakages, assessing the adequacy of revenue controls, and recommending improvements to strengthen financial integrity and operational efficiency.
The incumbent will lead revenue-focused control engagements and collaborate closely with Finance and Accounts, Operations, IT teams and other stakeholders to ensure transparent and reliable revenue reporting.
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer provide oversight and reviews across Human Resources, People & Culture, and Learning & Development to ensure staff processes, policies, and training activities are well-controlled, transparent, and compliant with established standards. It also assesses controls within Marketing, Corporate Communications, Digital & Media, Brand Strategy, Procurement, Sundry Services, and Facility Management to ensure operational efficiency, proper resource utilization, adherence to policies, and mitigation of operational and reputational risks.
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer is responsible for control oversight and providing assurance of effective functioning of the UP’s internal control systems in the following strategic resource functions: Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring daily monitoring and reconciliation of scheme receivables, co-acquirer balances, and merchant settlement obligations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely settlement across both local and international payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, CUP and Payattitude).
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer also validate settlement account postings, tracks receivables inflows, and supports revenue assurance activities by ensuring accurate recovery of income due from settlement agents and other stakeholders.
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer reviews and validates revenue streams by assessing merchant service charges, re-computing transaction-based income, and ensuring accurate invoices, receivable collection, and compliance with settlement arrangements.
Ensuring the integrity of financial reporting through regular GL reviews, accurate recognition and accounting of receivables and revenues (including schemes, projects, and social investments), timely reporting to stakeholders, and effective monitoring of recoveries, disputes, and revenue assurance activities.
The Revenue & Analysis and Corporate Services Control Officer ensure accurate accounting and reporting of all revenue, receivables, payables, and liabilities in the General Ledger, including income from card schemes, agency banking (bank and non-bank – (Teamapt, Paycom, Ikonik Village, ITEX, Crowd Force etc), merchant activities, and digital payment platforms.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of receivables vis-à-vis collections, Scheme Receivables – Amount due to UP as licensed Acquirer for both domestic and international transactions (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, CUP, Payattitude, and others).
The role also oversees GL reviews and reconciliations, ensures timely error detection and correction, and provides management with reliable financial information to support effective decision-making and planning.
The Team Lead provides structured oversight and independent review across Human Resources, People & Culture, and Learning & Development by evaluating the design and effectiveness of policies, procedures, and controls governing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll administration, and staff training. It ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, promotes transparency, mitigates risks related to employee practices, and validates that training initiatives are aligned with organizational objectives and properly documented.
Additionally, the function performs control reviews across Marketing, Corporate Communications, Digital & Media, and Brand Strategy to ensure that campaigns, media spend, brand initiatives, and communications activities are properly authorized, accurately reported, and aligned with approved budgets and strategic goals. It verifies compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations, safeguards brand reputation, and ensures appropriate monitoring of third-party agencies and vendors.
Within Procurement, Sundry Services, and Facility Management, Internal Control assesses the adequacy and effectiveness of procurement processes, vendor selection, contract management, and service delivery. It ensures that expenditures are justified, competitive bidding processes are followed, contracts are properly executed, and resources are efficiently utilized. The function also reviews asset management, maintenance activities, and support services to confirm adherence to policies, cost optimization, and mitigation of operational, financial, and reputational risks.
Evaluate existing workflows, systems, and processes to identify bottlenecks and implement control-driven improvements.
Collaborate with technology, product, and operations teams to ensure fintech processes are efficient, scalable, and secure.
Design and monitor control systems that prevent and detect fraud, unauthorized transactions, and policy breaches.
Ensure the organization’s operations comply with all relevant regulatory frameworks, including CBN guidelines, NDPR (Nigeria Data Protection Regulation), AML/CFT regulations, tax obligations and others.
Providing control counseling, advisory and decision support services.
Ensuring prompt rendition of control reports/returns including reports of unusual incidents to Head, Business & Support
Review new policies and products for control adequacy before implementation.
Maintain an efficient working relationship with the assigned Departments to proactively resolve overdue open items.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive management on business & support control matters, supporting informed decision-making and business sustainability.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional certification required/optional: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Others: Master’s degree, CISA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent would be an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years and above of relevant assurance experience (audit or internal control), with at least 3 years in assurance leadership or strategic role in financial reporting, governance, risk, or compliance. Experience in the fintech, financial services, or banking sector is strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with Nigerian corporate governance codes and CBN regulations.
