Job Title: Risk Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

About the Role

• GFAMS is seeking a proactive, analytical, and experienced professional to join our organisation as Risk Manager
• The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying assessing, and mitigating operational, financial, and regulatory risks across the business.
• This is a mid-level role well-suited to a seasoned professional with demonstrable experience in the microfinance sector and a robust understanding of enterprise risk management practices.

Key Responsibilties

• Oversee and manage IT infrastructure, systems and operations for optimal performance and availability.
• Ensure system security, data protection and business continuity in line with regulatory standards.
• Optimise technology resources and resolve issues to minimise downtime and disruption
• Lead digital initiatives, process automation and adoption of innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
• Manage vendors and partners to ensure quality service delivery and value for money.
• Provide reports, insights and recommendations to support continous improvement and strategic decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• 3-5 years' relevant experience in risk management within a Microfinance Bank or similar financial institution
• Strong working knowledge of risk management principles, regulatory compliance standards, and internal control frameworks
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem- solving and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detal
• Proficiency in report writing, data interpretation, and the use of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
