Green Harvest Recruitment - Our client, a leading Agro-FMCG company, is expanding its operations across the South-West region. The company is involved in the cultivation, harvesting, processing, and production of high-quality agricultural products, driven by a commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, innovation, and value creation within Nigeria's agricultural sector and food value chain.
Service and maintain diesel generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA in accordance with OEM specifications and maintenance standards.
Carry out routine preventive maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability.
Conduct corrective maintenance and repairs on faulty generator systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical faults affecting diesel engines and associated systems.
Troubleshoot generator performance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Perform engine overhauls, component replacements, calibrations, alignments, and rebuilds as required.
Maintain and repair fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, air intake systems, and exhaust systems.
Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential mechanical failures before breakdowns occur.
Equipment Monitoring & Operational Support:
Monitor generator performance and operating parameters.
Support generator commissioning, testing, and load bank testing activities.
Ensure generators operate efficiently and meet required power demands.
Participate in planned shutdown maintenance activities.
Respond promptly to emergency equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service within the shortest possible time.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, repair logs, and inspection reports.
Document faults, corrective actions, spare parts utilized, and maintenance schedules.
Provide technical recommendations for equipment improvement and lifecycle management.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Adhere strictly to Company Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability (HSES) policies.
Ensure safe work practices during maintenance and repair activities.
Maintain proper housekeeping within workshop and generator environments.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
Support cost-saving initiatives through effective maintenance planning and resource utilization.
Mentor junior technicians and support knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
Minimum of OND, Trade Test Certificate, Technical College Certificate, or equivalent qualification in, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automobile Technology, Automotive Engineering, Technical Mechanical Trades, Related Engineering Discipline
Experience
4–6 years hands-on experience maintaining diesel generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA.
Proven experience working with diesel engines such as:
Perkins
Cummins
MTU
Caterpillar (CAT)
Volvo Penta
Similar Industrial Diesel Engines
Experience within industrial, manufacturing, agro-processing, commercial, or power generation environments is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of diesel engine operation and maintenance.
Sound understanding of fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems.
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance schedules.
Knowledge of generator synchronization and load management will be an added advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Familiarity with workshop tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.

Salary
Salary: N250,000 - N300,000 per month; Competitive Salary Package.
